The European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE), the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR CaRe) and the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences organised a successful speed networking event during Chillventa 2018.
Students had the chance to meet and network with representatives of the industry and UNEP and get first-hand tips on how to get a first job in the HVACR sector.
Andrea Voigt, EPEE’s Director General, explains: “With the EUREKA project we have instigated a cross-generation debate with young people. We are very pleased to further facilitate this dialogue with this first speed networking, during which students in the HVACR sector could exchange with and learn from experienced professionals. Industry representatives were also eager to better understand the new generation’s career expectations.”
Michael Kauffeld, Professor at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and Vice-President of the IIR CaRe said: “The International Institute of Refrigeration organized several networking events for students and young researchers in the past years and initiated the working group “Careers in Refrigeration” CaRe in 2015. The EPEE Eureka event in Berlin in December 2017 invited to a cooperation for the benefit of young people. It was a pleasure to work with the highly professional EPEE team on our joint event at Chillventa. I received very positive feedback from students, who were enthusiastic about meeting so many professionals in such a nice setting and getting valuable hints for their career. Professionals were also very positive. I therefore look forward to the second edition in 2020.”
EPEE, IIR CaRe and the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences committed to organise a bigger scale speed networking event at Chillventa 2020 to promote careers in the HVACR sector.
