EPEE’s Andreea Kaye spoke at the 2018 AMCA ASET-Europe – Air System Engineering and Technology Conference on Tuesday, 20 February, in Lyon, France.
The ASET – Europe conference brought together noted speakers from Europe and the US who conducted sessions on a range of topics of appeal to the air movement industry, such as IAQ, energy efficiency, fan noise, systems and sizing and refrigerants.
Andreea spoke about the Kigali Amendment and its implications for business, analysing the working principle of the phase-down and drawing on the lessons learnt from the implementation of the EU HFC phase-down. She concluded that a phase-down system leaves the much needed flexibility for industry, but companies need to develop forward looking strategies in order to ensure the success of the phase-down. Framework conditions such as standards, building codes and installer competence are key for success and communication efforts towards all concerned stakeholders are vital.
