On the occasion of the Variable Refrigerant Flow Conference that took place in Dubai on 27 March,  EPEE Director General Andrea Voigt presented, via videoconferencing, the current Ecodesign rules applicable to VRF in Europe, and the European experience with a SEER-based approach, system of different weightages and considering part-load.

She stressed that ambitious Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) are ambitious yet realistic, they trigger technological innovation and a true market shift, benefiting consumers, the environment and the economy. In addition, the European experience shows that taking into account part load conditions allows for realistic design assumptions and avoids over-dimensioning.
