On 3 December EPEE organised an Industry Roundtable entitled “A bright future? Or a cloudy horizon?” to discuss the upcoming challenges regarding the EU’s new F-gas Regulation and Ecodesign.
The 40 participants began by hearing a general overview from the European Commission regarding the upcoming entry into force of the F-gas Regulation.
This was followed by discussions led by Oko Recherche on the labelling requirements and by Gluckman Consulting on the challenges related to the uptake of lower GWP technologies.
During the networking lunch keynote speeches were given by officials from DG Energy and the Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the EU – the next EU Presidency – which gave rise to lively and positive discussions amongst participants about what the future holds.
The afternoon saw further presentations by the Commission regarding Ecodesign and Eco-labelling, with speakers from ECOS and CECED touching on the review of the Framework Directives and an update on energy labelling studies respectively.
The event was a great success and emphasised how important it is for all parties to remain in close contact and share information on an ongoing basis.
